The Bears Club, is the official fundraising arm of Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics. The primary purpose of the Bears Club is to raise financial support to enhance the Lenoir-Rhyne University student-athlete experience and provide athletic scholarship support.

Bears Club Annual Dinner

The 2024 Bears Club Annual Dinner was once again a sold out event for all things Bear Athletics. Those in attendance heard from distinguished LR Alumni Rick Barnes, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Tennessee, and Jon Gilbert, Athletic Director at East Carolina University, as they discussed the evolving landscape of college athletics.

The Annual Dinner is a yearly event held in mid to late August that kicks off the new academic and athletic year for the Bears Club.

Hanley H. Painter Bear Memorial Golf Tournament

Start your Homecoming Weekend with a round of golf at the prestigious Lake Hickory Country Club, Catawba Springs Course. Join us on Friday, October 17th, 2025, for the annual Hanley H. Painter Memorial Golf Tournament. Whether you bring your own foursome or join one of ours, this event is a perfect way to reconnect with fellow LR alumni and show your support for LR Athletics. With tee times available at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., all proceeds from the tournament go directly towards student-athlete scholarships. Registration is required, so secure your spot today!
